2024 Year in Review: November

  1. Beta Read of Latine book coming out in 2025!
    Can’t tell you more! But I had fun, I was moved and I can look forward to everyone reading it next year!
  2. The Man in Black: And Other Stories by Elly Griffiths (various MCs, Shorts in various genres from mystery, horror & thriller) It was great to reconnect with lots of characters but there is an awful lot of folks getting away with murder (solved with no consequences!) CWs: murders, assaults.
  3. Withholding Evidence by Rachel Grant (WM/WW, RS, reread, DC-set, Navy SEAL/Historian)
    Military historians is hounding a recently retired SEAL about a sealed op & possible coverup when things starts blowing up…not just their chemistry.
    CWs: misogyny, guns, secrets, bombs, abduction
  4. Firestorm by Rachel Grant (BW/PRM, RS, reread, Djibouti, Green Beret/CIA officer)
    To protect herself and keep her cover Kaylea needs Carlos to be her pretend date to a diplomatic function. But their kisses are not fake at all!
    CWs: sexism, war, guns, violence, abduction, child endangerment
  5. In Her Sights by Katie Ruggle (WM/WW, RS)
    Sister bounty hunters have to track down a dangerous skip after their felonious mother skips town with a stolen necklace.
    John is big, goofy & gone for Molly, who is skeptical, closed off & shocked he cares!
    CWs: sexual harassment, toxic parent
  6. Risk it all by Katie Ruggle (WM/WW, RS, BK 2)
    Feeling the pressure to keep up with her bounty hunter sisters, Cara starts hunting a killer…who she is oddly fascinated by …that will be a problem! Love the humor & banter between the MCs.

  7. A Proposal to Die For by Molly Harper (WM/WW, Mystery Rom, ARC April 2025)
    Coerced into joining her HS frenemy for a weeklong planning retreat, Jess instead untangles the toxic drama, desperation & deceit under her clients luxe facades. Found family goodness!

  8. The Scenic Route by Katie Ruggle (WA/WM, RS)
    While trying to track her mom, Felicity elects to lure away a new PI on the case to a surprisingly deadly small town populated by past MCs. They become allies & then accidentally married!
    CWs: violence,guns, bombs, drugs, memory loss, murder.
  9. Cold Spite by Toni Anderson. (WW/LM, RS)
    5 years of pain & regret need to be bridged when Delilah & Cas reunite to take down an excon/exSEAL with a grudge.
    CWs: SA, murder, guilt, abduction, child endangerment, parent with dementia, PT: Child SA, miscarriage/traumatic hysterectomy
  10. Death Behind Every Door by Heather Graham (WM/AW, PNR/RS)
    These books are not good and this one worst than most (so repetitive & infodumpy) but it had an audiobook and I needed something to not pay attention and I know the world building.
    CWs: guns, murder, threat of SA, serial killers.
