A lifelong genre reader, I grew up reading fantasy, sci-fi & mystery in Puerto Rico, then found Romance in a post-grad school burnout haze! When I’m not reading, talking about books or knitting I’m a school librarian.

2025 September Mini Reviews

68-71 Feral Pack by Eve Langlais (M/F PNR, mostly set in Canada). The series started rough but each book got better (or I got invested as the WB was developed).

CWs: threats of SA, abduction, persecution, guns, violence PT: torture, sterilization, SA, medical procedures/testing.

  1. Finding the One by Kristen Ashley ( WM/WW, Contemporary mostly set in the UK, knew from childhood, former mean girl)

Reunited at her sisters wedding when Dair helps her keep their adulterous parents from ruining the wedding. The trigger for 3 act breakup didn’t make sense but I loved Blake.

  1. Avenging Angel: Tenderfoot (LM/WW, light RS)

This Charlie’s Angels inspired series is very meta, often veering into parody but the ridiculousness works for me as long as I don’t think deeply about the politics.

Cw: toxic parents, guns, kidnapping, violence PT: homelessness, abandonment

  1. Thread of Fear by Laura Griffin (WM/WW, RS, serial killer/rapist).

Forensic artist nearing burnout keeps getting sucked back in & can’t resist small town police chief trying to solve a no longer cold case of a serial rapist/killer targeting young Latinas.

CWs: racism, SA, child endangerment
